Dear Notion Team,
I wasn’t actively looking for new opportunities until I saw the job postings at Notion earlier today. Notion is a product I use daily and am particularly passionate about. I started using Notion before template sharing was a feature, driven by my keen interest in note-taking software, transitioning from Evernote. Ivan Zhao's story and vision of "inventing paper for the internet" have been significant inspirations for me. Currently, I work at Tesla as a software engineer, but the opportunity to join Notion excites me deeply and means a lot more to me.
I believe I can contribute effectively to the Notion team for the following reasons:
- Full-Stack Development Expertise: At Tesla and Dolby, I have honed my skills in full-stack development, contributing at a high level and building world-class software. My experience spans across various technologies, including AWS, Node.js, WebSockets, TypeScript, React, and PostgreSQL, aligning well with Notion’s tech stack.
- Security Focus: I have a strong interest in security and have worked on implementing secure systems like RBAC in my previous roles. I am passionate about ensuring that products remain secure, private and trustworthy for users, and know basic security measures like OAuth2 and JWT.
- Startup Experience: As the founding engineer at Kimi.ai, I learned to ship products quickly and with high quality. My attention to product detail and willingness to contribute across various areas will be beneficial to Notion’s dynamic environment.
- Passion for Notion’s Product: I use Notion daily and recommend it to others whenever possible, whether for school projects or startup endeavors. I am familiar with its features, ongoing improvements (e.g., search functionality enhancements), and the community (e.g., Theo.gg's An Open Letter to Notion).
I haven’t work specifically in the security fields, but
